Adoptable Dogs & Cats in California

Adoptable Dogs & Cats in California

HALO has them available for purchase if you do not have one available at the time of adoption. We welcome visitors to our shelter without an appointment to walk  through our shelter to view our animals. We will accommodate as many walk-in visitors as we can.
Don’t forget about people who have already adopted from you. Just because they’ve gotten a pet doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to offer additional assistance. If you follow up with them post-adoption, as we recommended in the last section, you have the perfect opportunity https://californiadogfoster.wordpress to ask them to volunteer. People who have already committed themselves to help your rescue are prime targets for seeking additional volunteers. Plus, they can act as screeners since they would likely only refer people who share their passion for animals.

A qualified animal control company is best qualified to handle traps and animals. To find a pest control company, look in the yellow pages or do an online search for "wildlife pest control in San Mateo County." The stories of fostering and rescues come from near and far. Bridges adopted the dog she named Ruby from the streets of tiny Talpe, Sri Lanka, where the rules of the lockdown allowed the beach town’s residents out to shop only every three days. She was holed up in Talpe with her boyfriend as they waited to launch a backpacking business. ARF works to educate our population about the importance of responsible pet ownership, including the need for spay/neuter and heart worm disease prevention.

Rabies is incredibly deadly and extremely contagious. Unfortunately, it’s also highly likely to spread because patients often don’t show symptoms for some time. Once symptoms do manifest, there is almost a zero percent chance of survival. That’s why California requires all pet owners to vaccinate their dogs for Rabies.
Eviction, foreclosure, fires, floods…all these force people and pets into unknown territory. We can help in this period of uncertainty by caring for pets and assuring they are in good hands—easing some of the pressure on pet owners. Homeless individuals often rely on their pets for comfort and companionship. To remain together, many choose to forgo shelters or job training opportunities for fear of being separated from their companions. Lost Our Home makes it possible for people to receive job training without leaving their pet behind.

Through lifelong commitments and healthy fulfilled lives we believe pets are able to become the best they can be and amazing relationships are built. Dogwood Animal Rescue is a 501 organization that relies on your donations to continue to save companion animals. We are a 100% donor supported and we thank you for helping us make a difference, one animal at a time.
Fosters are expected to care for one or more animals for anywhere between a week and a few months depending on the needs of the pet. Our fosters need to be able to bring in pets to our clinic during the week to receive routine vaccinations, preventatives, and exams as needed. No animal deserves to spend its last days in a shelter.

Ever see an umbrella tattoo on the tummy of one of our dogs, and wondered what it's all about? Well, we use these as special identifiers, so that if one of our dogs is picked up, or surrendered to a shelter, the staff knows to call us first.
