Vollmer left the group three weeks before a major concert scheduled at La Sierra College , later University. A cancellation of the contract wasn't possible and since time was of the essence, the two men invited Gary Evans, a senior at Glendale Academy and an accomplished guitarist, to audition. Although Evans' life experience of growing up in California and his age differed from that of the other two men, musical aspects meshed surprisingly well from the start. Evans now became part of a new group called Wedgwood, one that began forging a new identity, a more contemporary sound. After completion of active duty service, Michele continued her military service as principal clarinet and soloist for the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast while pursuing a Master’s Degree in performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. During her studies at the Conservatory, Michele retained a private studio of over 30 students, was actively involved in community outreach performances, and toured regularly with Air Force Bands across the country. Clifford was in charge of a clarinet choir for two years at North Point High School.

All students in the Performance Program have the opportunity to audition for a spot in School of Rock Silver Spring's House Band. Once selected, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community and perform live shows at MD rock venues throughout the year. Our Songwriting program for kids and teens teaches the fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement and music theory, and helps students compose original works. At School of Rock Silver Spring, songwriting students receive one weekly private lesson where they learn concepts, technique and theory on an instrument of their choice.
