At Dyslexia UK we don’t believe that specific learning difficulties should be a barrier to learning. Our team of experienced dyslexia assessors have a passion for exploring a person’s areas of strength and difficulty to provide personalised recommendations to enable them to become successful at home, school, university and the workplace. We provide remote dyslexia assessments and dyscalculia screeners to children, students and adults around the city of Cardiff.
Following that your lead professional will write a full report, with outcomes. This report will be sent to you with full list of recommendations that may be helpful for educators or employers or yourself and your family. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS 2 ; face to face assessment), which is observed and double scored for reliability purposes. The ADOS-2 is carried out with the child / person and involves talking and playing games. The assessment is typically carried out by a Clinical Psychologist and other professional specialised in ADOS 2 or ADI-r or 3di assessments.

The Integrated Autism Service also offers timely access to a comprehensive group and workshop programme for autistic adults and carers. We are a new society, creating accessible spaces, social connections and voices for neurodivergent Occupational Health Solutions people.
We create comprehensive holistic interventions for an individual needs including specific diet, recommendations for parenting strategies, OT and SALT interventions. In a package we also include psychoeducation for neurodivergent individual as well as for their family. This is individually tailored service and it aims to support the individual and their family in wider holistic way rather than fragmented individual interventions. Prof. Spendelow has worked as a clinical psychologist for 20 years in both the public and private sectors. He has wide-ranging experience across several practice areas, including neurodiversity, adult mental health, and medical psychology.
We're here to help everyone identify and reframe their neurodiversity as unique strengths, rather than challenges to overcome. For the last three years, we've been supporting apprentices to navigate and overcome their difficulties with learning and mental health as they start their journey in the workplace. We realised that for those who are not in education and whose neurodiversity has gone undiagnosed or undetected, it can be even more difficult to pin down and access the support they've been missing.
In the face of unprecedented demand for both diagnosis and treatment, we have made significant progress in developing integrated services. You can also apply for PIP if you are working, studying, or receiving other benefits. On average, you could be paid between £70 to £100 for daily living each week. However, this figure is estimated to be much higher with growing awareness and improved access to autism diagnostics. Between 2008 and 2016, there was an eight-fold increase in autism diagnoses in women in Wales, which is indicative of a gender gap and underrecognition of autism. In response to numerous queries around the content of training for professionals working with individuals with autism, we have developed a training framework to help commissioners plan and implement training.
Our sessions raise understanding of different neurotypes and offer practical strategies to create inclusive, supportive environments where neurodivergent individuals can thrive. There is a significantly higher proportion of people with autism who suffer with their mental wellbeing compared to the general/ neurotypical population. Although Autism itself does not cause mental health problems, living in a world that is not user friendly towards you can result in a tough and draining life with the need for support. Once a person is diagnosed with autism, support and better understanding can be given to guide them to engage better with others, should they choose to do so.
