Japanese Restaurant Blackburn, VIC
The miso flavour doesn’t rise up as much as it should, and if you ordered it for that reason only, you may be a little disappointed. However, ignoring that, it’s a really pleasant broth – packed full of ingredients as you can see from the photo. They really hero the chicken and the natural flavour of the broth, and other than a little spring onion, there wasn’t a lot of strong flavours added with the other ingredients. It’s a clever contrast from the strong curry and I liked that it catered to a different audience, allowing everyone to have a favourite dish here. We opted for the beef curry, although they have a whole range of curries to suit almost any taste.

One thing guests particularly like about Burwood Teppanyaki House is the attentive service. The chefs and waiters patiently explain anything you’re not sure about, making this an excellent venue for Japanese connoisseurs and novices alike. The seafood teppanyaki here contains fish, scallop, prawns, mussels and squid, all prepared to your liking. Alternatively, you can try the garlic prawn teppanyaki, featuring juicy prawns cooked in garlic butter.
This was the first teppanyaki establishment to open in Australia way back in 1975. It says much for the quality of the food – and dining experience – that it is still going strong. We take the Japanese classics and reimagine them into contemporary favourites. Our fresh products are lovingly handmade by our sushi artisans in store every single day.
