One Word That Will Change Your Life

One Word That Will Change Your Life

Referring  to the sovereignty of God, he will say, God will do whatever He wants to do, so it doesn’t matter if you pray. Then switching to God’s changelessness, he will say, You think you can change things through prayer? You can’t change God’s mind, because God can’t change.
We are grateful for the unseen ways that our ancestors sacrificed to give their children a good life. Help us also to be grateful for the good traits and gifts that we have inherited from those who have come before us. Lead us to make the right choices in life to create a good and positive legacy to those who will come after us.

A back and abdominal injury that started 2 & 3 years ago has changed that tune.  I mourned the transformation for a tremendous time and grieved my new reality, but God has taught and shown me so much through all of it that I wouldn’t change a thing. Sometimes our next step in the midst of change is to stop and grieve, resting in God’s love.
We are to present our whole person to God as a living sacrifice. We live in the world but should not be a part of the world. Life is a journey, focus on your future in Christ and not on your plans or past  mistakes. God has plans to bless you—giving you a hope and future, far better than you know.

It’s a hope that changes the way that we think, but are we aligning with Jesus, or are we aligning with the patterns of this world? Have you allowed Jesus to change the way that you think it’s what he does and it’s what he wants to do for you? Yes, God can bless you with that, but he’s got something more and better. If you stop at financial blessings, you’re stopping way short of what God wants for you and has for you. Jesus is changing their minds all over the place.

For the promises of the gospel belong to the people who share the same faith as the Apostles. Christmas changes your world by allowing you to experience genuine love and by providing you with a lasting peace. It also changes your world by giving your life purpose.
There are behaviors that we need to change. We need to stop focusing on the world’s values. We need to begin to focus on spiritual values. In Romans 12 the apostle Paul encourages those who have already put their faith in Christ to live with a spiritual mind set. Paul is telling us that we are to live more than a physical life in Christ; we are to live in the spirit with Christ. For several weeks now we have been focusing on spiritual growth.
One truth to remember is that decision-making should not feel like walking on a tightrope with God. If you are living in accordance to God’s Word, God will honor whatever choice you make. Let that relieve any pressure you may have. So Lord, help us to steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing our toil is not in vain. Men have always rebelled against God… institutions, nations.

When I pause to look at a seemingly barren tree or shrub, I am surprised to see the buds on every branch, waiting for the proper time to open and bloom. You have given each of us gifts that have yet to awaken and bloom. Nurture us as you do the trees and shrubs, so that in time, our gifts may mature and be shared with others. Loving Creator, thank you for the gift of life. Watch over all expectant parents as they await the birth of their child. May every child find love and affection as they find their way in the world.
We are living during a time that is like the calm before a menacing, destructive storm. If you had been a Jew in Germany in 1935, would you have been alert to your people’s future destiny? Would you have taken appropriate action to save the lives of your family members? You need to be paying attention to what is happening in world events! The cost of ignorance, laxness, or a dilatory attitude will be extremely high. If Scripture reveals to you some truth that may be inconvenient, embarrassing, or personally or financially costly—what will your reaction be?

When you speak, remember you are to speak with your speech seasoned with salt," as it were. "Love is patient. Love isn't jealous, doesn't brag, isn't arrogant. So what I want you to do as you leave here, consider changing the station. Consider stopping taking in trash and start meditating on whatever is pure, whatever is true, whatever is noble, right, and lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. I want you to consider replacing a TV show with something else, a different activity or a better TV show; "The Bachelor" with "A.D." or something. Colossians 3 says to set your minds things above.
Just turn to your neighbor and say, “I’m being squeezed.” And if they’re squeezing, you just tell them, “Stop. That’s awkward.” We are being squeezed by the world around us. Well, and then you go further into the party and you see two people in a corner whispering and laughing. And you know what they’re whispering about, don’t you?
