Travelling to Taiwan

Travel for about 10km and take a wrong turn, so easy to do. End up back on a highway going in the wrong direction. Pass within almost a stone’s throw of our hotel again. What was possibly a 20km trip turned out to be may be 50km! We have no GPS and if we had one it would be in Chinese, perhaps that would be better than Anna’s iPhone GPS, perhaps not. Lilly and I are still on speaking terms notwithstanding the navigator blaming the driver and vice versa.
The night before, a small bowl of fish ball soup was also 25 NTD. I took a very short ride on the MRT for 20 NTD . We will be there for 4 weeks, which is enough time to go from north to south and back again. 剝皮辣椒 But we like to take our time with each place, and it looks like there is a lot to see just in the north and the central areas of Taiwan. I want to spend probably at least a week in Taipei alone.

Oh no, we get to Taipei in the arvo, and I was thinking we go to Yangmingshan the next morning. I was thinking of just getting there by public transport.. I actually bookmarked Yehliu but didn’t realise how close it was until now. Singapore is likely to be a cheaper option owing to the shear amount of seats available, although spot specials to Osaka could tilt that option to being lower at times. Even the most popular destinations in Thailand are daily or every 2nd day depending on the airline.
Weather is not hot not too freezing....just kind of coolish... Cheaper and you get to see more if you're a tourist. I'm guessing since you are only there probably 4 full days or maybe less you are going to stick with Taipei. The eastern side of the island has very different scenery from the north and west. Hey guys, I'm heading to Taipei start of January and just wanted to know if there are a lot of places to exchange over there and if exchange rate will be better than getting it done in Australia.
There is E-DA Theme Park in kaohsiung though but not sure how good it is. Taoyuan MRT – This is one way to move between TPE Airport and Taipei. The bus is cheaper than the MRT but you may risk getting caught in traffic. MRT costs NT$160 pp to go from the Airport to Taipei. Take the Express rather than the Commuter train.

Government officials took note of this and proceeded to construct and open the National Museum of Prehistory in 2002 to preserve the rare artifacts. Visitors can visit the nearby museum from Tatung Station to see the ancient artifacts that have been unearthed. This re-purposed space now hosts many permanent art exhibits and performers, as well as a tourist shop selling souvenirs for visitors.
To overcome this, spend your final hours revisiting your favourite vacation spots. Perhaps take time to capture those final moments, snapping pictures that maybe you didn’t get to take the first time around, as you were living in the moment. Capturing a moment in time isn’t just about securing a memory, it can also help you to appreciate your vacation even more upon your return home.

Much easier driving today with Lilly navigating and me starting to feel more comfortable with driving on the right, getting used to the car and the road signs etc. This place could be called scooter city, they are everywhere, scooting past you on each side sometimes so quick that one false move and they would be curtains. So it’s imperative to hold your line in the traffic and give plenty of warning to change lanes. Traffic is much quicker than in Japan, margins are small, drivers more flamboyant but still mostly very considerate.
Day2 – Bus from Taipei to Jiufen followed by Keelung city  night market later part of the day. We took the train back later in the evening. I had a private driver for that next day though. I went solo and travelled around the whole country and i managed. Maybe try and keep your time in Taipei minimal this time since you've already been before. Also getting to the east coast isn't serviced by high speed rail so it takes a couple of hours by train if you do so that way.
