Travelling to Taiwan Questions & Tips

Our guide Eric showed us educational videos which were helpful for me to better appreciate the history of the sites we visited. I would definitely recommend this tour for a good overview of the country at a reasonable price. It was a great trip with excellent 5-star hotels. The tour guide Alan Chou was professional, kind and funny.
Still working out what to buy as well that is unique to Kaohsiung . Ruifeng is where my I go every time I visit Taiwan with my wife . That's 台東美食伴手禮 what I suspected, based on the other HSR stations . Hsr station is kind of far like up near the lake with the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.

2 Avoid major tourist attractions, such as Taroko Gorge and Sun Moon Lake, on weekends and public holidays. If you book yourself in at one of our highly recommended accommodations, the experienced staff will make sure that your stay is a memorable one. The Papago International Resort and Marshmallow B&B are worth checking out.
I didn't do too much in Kaohsiung but i remember going to this art pier thing i think called The Pier-2 Art Center and going to Qi Jin, can bike around there, there's a fort on that island too. There's that lookout over the city Shoushan LOVE Lookout and further out is that nature area Chaishan. There's also that famous lake with the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. There is E-DA Theme Park in kaohsiung though but not sure how good it is.
It is scantily populated, and so perfect for enjoying profound peace and tranquility. However, the relaxing ambiance is also perfect for fun-filled family activities, including photo opportunities and outdoor sports. If you're looking for a place to relax with your family, Taitung Seashore Park will not disappoint. Located off the eastern coast of Taiwan, Green Island is a natural hub for endless outdoor activities. It is particularly famous for a cave that serves as home to a stalagmite said to resemble the Goddess of Mercy. Other notable wonders include the hot saltwater springs as well as the coastline's coral reefs that offer a fascinating experience to scuba divers and snorkelers.

Luckily we didn’t proceed with any hike as the rain got worse shortly after we made our way down the mountain. The visibility then was reduced to 5 to 10 metres. Love how easy it was to sort out a sim card and data access – I'm able to use google maps on my phone, so I don't look like such a tourist. So far, Taiwan sort of feels like a mix between China and Japan, which works well for me because they are two countries that I  love. Taipei is a great city, with a hell of a lot going on.
Taiwan has good rail and bus services, especially along its western corridor. Public transport is more sporadic on the east and south coasts, where it's helpful to have your own transport or to join a tour.
